Survivors
Left 4 Dead 2 is set in the south, a journey from Savannah Georgia to New Orleans Louisiana. With the new game setting we are introduced to a new set of survivors. Valve is trying to open up the L4D world and impart to players that this infection thing is big. So while Francis, Zoey, Bill, and Louis are doing battle in Philadelphia; these four are fighting the infected in the southern swamplands…
Nick
Lured by fast money and river boat gambling, con man Nick made a stop in Georgia. There’s always another con just a little further down the road, Nick never intended to make Savannah his final stop. Then again the Zombie apocalypse wasn’t part of his plan either.
Hugh Dillon of Flashpoint plays Nick.
Rochelle
Producer for a cable news network, Rochelle was sent into Savannah to cover what would turn out to be the outbreak. Rochelle finds herself right in the middle of the chaos, not being one to let live slip away she grabs a gun and meets the infection head on.
Rochelle Aytes of White Chicks plays Rochelle.
Coach
After a knee injury ended his athletic dreams, this ex-defensive lineman turned to teaching. Coach is now pushing 40 and wishing he’d taken better care of that knee, but who knew that one day he would have to run for his life in the face of the ever growing zombie hoard? Coach has developed an extreme hatred of the Zombies, the Witch in particular.

Ellis
Brash, cocky, and indestructible. This 21 year old mechanic and Savannah native isn’t scarred of some infection. Ellis enthusiastically replaces his Miller High Life with a gun and heads out into the fray.

Haha. So what if I am? And really I just think she has the least part in the game. Especially when just watching the trailer. And honestly I don’t mind her, I just don’t want to play as her.
And I agree with VLA4life, I want to see the original survivors in the game as well. But with the addition of the new survivors. I think this would add so many more options for people who have a preference on a survivor to play as.
Rochelle is dead wait I’m going to leave her ass behind when she gets attacked by something. See I’m going with Coach people respect him because he’s a leader i want people to save my ass when a hunter jumps on me so i can guide them to safety.

Dunno. I think Rochelle is effin’ badass and has some really funny lines. Its all personal preferences.
One of the funniest things I’ve heard in the game is Rochelle saying “Ah, Nick…at least you’re already dressed for the funeral.” , when he dies. I laughed so hard I spit out my coffee.

I dont get y the F people think someone is the leader.They think there the leader since there coach or nick. It doesn’t matter. just cause u think coach,nick,Rochelle, or Ellis are leaders doesn’t mean someone is going to follow u and respect you and Im not taking and crap from someone who thinks there the leader. I choose Ellis since he looks cool to me and I like his personallity and dialoge.
Nick is awesome, Ellis is awesome. Coach is mildly awesome, but Rochelle is not. Sorry, just my view.

Well I think they are as usual, one big guy(Charger) one that vomit (Spitter) and a fast and irretating (Jocky) c´mon get some new stuff LOL!
I’m curious why Rochelle is somehow worse than the other survivors…No ones’ given a good reason beyond being genuinely offensive or just employing some double standard. I mean, she’s fashionable, but so is Nick. (2,000 suit anyone?) She’s kinda talkative, but Ellis is more. She’s a news reporter covering the infection…makes her more realistic to be there than say…Zoey. Is it cause she’s a black woman? Not trying to troll, I’m just seeing a lot of anti-Rochelle backlash but the same things people don’t like about her, Zoey was worse with or its the same with the other characters. I mean, saying she’s dead weight? Why? Zoey was more than she was, you know since she’s a college student with no experience, canonically lazy, etc. (I love Zoey too lol, I’m a horror girl/gamer, so I’m just making a point.)
And don’t give me bull about her not being “prepared for the invasion” because if you actually knew what the game was about you’d know that these survivors are JUST meeting at the time of the start of the game, hence the introductions you hear. Meaning no time to change out of fashionable clothing, and make up. So…can someone please elaborate to me why people are so anti-Rochelle, and give a good reason? I’m just having trouble seeing the reasons why? I respect opinions but they gotta at least make sense.

I see them as completely different.
The Charger runs through but unlike a Tank he’s much faster and, his attack is much much different. Your screwed if you meet him on a ledge or in a hallway.
The Jockey is actually really effective. He seperates people from their group, which can make things tough for experienced gamers who know how to work together.
The spitter is not a vomit-er, she actually spits up acidic phlegm that stops those annoying campers (which I did too, so not judging XD) who hide in doorways and corners and spam.

Yea thats why I choose Rochelle. I like her dialogue, her shirt and her personality lol. Honestly don’t let people bully you into letting them lead the team just cause of the charry they choose. Often its the less type-A more easy going players who have the most fun, and are often the lifesavers. Not trying to patronize you, just saying thats been my experience lol
in a new DLC “The Passing” L4D2 survivors meet L4D survivers , hence the name “The Passing”. it will be realesed spring 2010
