Razer and Sixense’s new controller device will be totally compatible with Left 4 Dead 2 PC, Valve has announced.
This comes after its showing at the Worlds Largest Tech Conference, CES in Las Vegas.
The controller will give a somewhat Wii-Type feel to the game (along with other supported titles), but consists of dual-wielding peripheral rather than the Wii’s single controller.
Spong.com reports, “With this controller, Razer and Sixense have created the most immersive way to play our games,” said the game’s team leader, Chet Faliszek. “For us and for our customers, this release represents motion-enabled gaming that’s more integrated and visceral than any platform has so far achieved.”
I can seriously see myself using this on a day-to-day basis, and rest assured, when this is released over here in the UK, I’ll be most certainly writing up a review right here.
CGSociety today posted an article featuring an interview with Left 4 Dead 2’s very own Character Designer Jeremy Bennett and Environment Designer, Randy Lundeen.
The article runs through topics such as the locations of their travels, the player models and the new common and special infected zombies.
It seems that wide speculation of Valve ‘ignoring’ the Xbox 360 customers has been greatly exaggerated. The Left 4 Dead team today announces that this weekend, Xbox live will be free, allowing all Left 4 Dead 2 players to play online, even if they simply have a ‘Silver’ account.
Here’s Valve’s exact wording:
For this weekend only, Microsoft is hosting a free multiplayer weekend for Left 4 Dead 2. What does this mean? You don’t need to have an Xbox Live Gold account to access Left 4 Dead 2’s multiplayer features. That’s right: You will be upgraded from Silver to Gold for free. You can go online alone or with a split-screen friend. This event starts at 5pm GMT Friday, January 15th and ends at 5pm on Sunday the 18th.
In other news: We’ve just rolled out a new PC update that you can read more about here. Xbox 360 users should be seeing a console version of this same patch very soon.
Also, over the next few weeks, keep an eye on your favorite gaming web sites and magazines for new info on our upcoming DLC “The Passing”.
Be sure to make the most of your free online multiplayer experience this weekend. Have fun.

Over the coming weeks, I hope to be trying out people’s attempts at custom campaigns and posting one’s which I think deserve a mention and review. I am in no way associated with the author of any which are posted – just to make that clear. Now, let’s get to it.
Browsing the internet earlier, I came across what appeared to be an interesting custom campaign created by someone of the Left 4 Dead 2 community. This campaign/map is in its early stages, but I thought I’d try it out non-the-less.
From a first glance when the map initially loads, it looks very professional and well done (which it does throughout). All textures look great (no broken/faulty ones), the starting point looks well-polished and positioning of objects look at VALVe-Standard.
Every British citizen knows for a fact that the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) does not advertise on their network and its TV channels (the license fee pays for that). If this is true, are they trying to tell us something?
Seems like even scientists themselves are readying themselves for a Zombie Apocalypse.
